Pastor's Pen
We
are told be “Ready for Doomsday”, fact or fiction?
Mayans, an Aztec tribe, are today at the centre of
the prediction of the “End of the World”.
5,125 years ago a Mayan came up with a calendar; it abruptly ends
on the 21st December 2012 (possibly died of old age) and has
for this reason caused a huge uncertainty and fear throughout the world
that according to the newspapers (Daily Mail) many have written in or
emailed NASA, the US Space Agency asking whether they should commit
suicide before the big day of 21st Dec.
As sad as it all is, many according to statistics
have caught on to this lie of Satan. Many from street cleaners to
surgeons, from librarians to politicians, from a single mom to an
astrophysics have begun preparation for the arrival of the 21st
Dec. Where is their faith? But how many are Christians I ask? How many
in the church have turned away from the truth of the Word of God and
have allowed themselves to be reeled in by the supposed wise men and
women who are in white coats and have great degrees.
Could we for a moment stop and believe that God
isn’t One who lies. I have sat and listened, read articles over this and
it concerns me how much influence a lie has over truth. Truth is a
kingdom key; it operates in both the realm of the believer and the
un-believer, for the power of truth and the power of lies exist in the
choices we make. By our choices we can give a lie power and it will
destroy, but by giving truth power, it gives us life and it sets us free
from fears. Jesus simply said that no-one not even He knows the hour or
the day God the Father has taken to be the final day. O! Just in case,
before this great and final day, there would have been seven years of
Tribulation (can’t see this recession be part of the Great Tribulation
spoken by the Apostle John in Revelation), the rapture, the Wedding
Feast of the Lamb, the two witness, 1000 years reign of Christ, Satan
having been casted in the Abyss and then loosened again , the false
prophet and the beast being cast into the Burning lake of Sulphur, the
Battle of Megiddo [Gog and Magog]. So
no friends the 21st December isn’t the “End of the World”,
not according to the Word of God anyway.
Jesus’ words are simply that we are to live alert, that is, be alert to the lies, the craftiness, the seductions of Satan.
